Armando, you are awesome and everyone loves your events. Perhaps the former member saw your title as the paranoid dictator and took that seriously.
I'm also wondering how someone gets lost at oleta. If you wander off the trail- which seems hard to do on a bike trail- youd end up in the parking lot or 163rd street. Seems that she could ask for directions in either place. Keep up the good pace with the oleta hikes buddy!

I would like to respond to our former member posting:
First of all...it was very nice to meet you and we were very happy that you did join us on our Saturday's hike.
I want to clarify a few misunderstandings: We didn't hike at 4 MPH, we hiked at an average of 3.1 MPH (we normally hike at a much faster rate) that's all I can handle right now with a "busted" knee.
We wish we had the time to wait for stragglers, but we have members coming from far away to have a good and dynamic hike. It would not be fair to those members to slow them down to crawl just because one member failed to read the description of the outings.

This is the BEST HIKE IN SOUTH FLORIDA, it is FAST and a GREAT PHYSICAL Hike to get those BODIES Moving! Yes, we do RUN sometimes - Trail running gets the Heart a PUMPING :)

We were warned! It was posted that it would be a brisk pace and 'not a walk in the park'. A lot of ups and downs, rocks and roots. I want to do this again on a regular basis Armando. Best workout I have had for awhile. Sore for two days. Again thanks so much.

It was fun, but I had to drop out after 5 miles of hiking. I was lagging behind too much and was concerned I would get lost. I had no idea the pace would be so fast. It was about 4 miles per hour. Once in a while I saw some stragglers running to keep up.

Besides the above mentioned, it was a fun park to hike in. I have hiked at Oleta before with an other group. We hiked at a slower pace, about 3 miles per hour. I had no problem with that group. The leaders were attentive and professional to all the members of the group and made sure the group stayed together. In the beginning there was an introduction. They asked members to exchange cell numbers in the event of a problem or if they needed a ride on a future hike. They stressed the importance of hydration.

Hi guys, just to let you know.:
This hike is not your regular "walk in the park" walk. These trails are actually Mountain Bike Trails and have lots of "ups and downs", rocks and roots. We will hike at a brisk pace

I hiked there last month. This is a beautiful and serene hiking area. It's true. It's no walk in the park, but it sure is lovely!
