The 2016 Florida Paddler's Rendezvous will be held in Flamingo, Florida this year on December 2 thru 4. It is a good paddle weekend with clubs from all over the state. The sponsoring club is The South Florida Bush Paddlers (and Friends). It will be benefitting the South Florida National Parks Trust this year. Information is listed on their web site.
We had a great time last year at the Suwannee River Rendezvous park with this collection of clubs from all over the state. I expect this year to be even better since it is covering "new" water. The paddles though tend to be on the short side. The Rendezvous signup page is up & running. Here is an email received from the Charlie, the organizer, from the Bush Paddlers. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2016-florida-paddlers-rendezvous-tickets-27791818076
Your registration fee includes many things, including the park entrance fee, but only if you do it early and your name is on the list at the gate…so register early. When you register, you will be given an opportunity to sign up for paddle trips. Please only signup for one trip per day. http://www.bushpaddlers.org/rendezvous-paddles.html
I want to emphasize in advance that Flamingo is at the end of the road. There are very limited facilities. Specifically, there is no gas and only VERY limited groceries at the Marina Store. We will have a pig roast on Friday night and to keep with tradition, the Rendezvous potluck on Saturday night. Both nights will have entertainment and we will have a campfire going.
Oh yes, this is an informational listing. You must sign up on the Bush Paddler web site for the event. Not here.
