The park is 17 miles north of Fargo, GA. My plan is to paddle to Minnie Lake, an interesting narrow waterway, lots of cypress trees. Platform with outhouse at the end. Then we can return to the canal and continue to the sill, water level permitting. In high water it is difficult to paddle back against the current in a few placs, so we can leave cars at the sill. Guaranteed to see gators. Total mileage is about 6 miles round trip to Minnie Lake plus another 3 miles to the sill. Meet at the staging area, boat ramp, near the welcome center. Entrance fee ($5 or $6), but free with national park pass.
