Join Rita for a 12 mile hike from Riverbend Park to the Hobe Grove Canal and back.
This beautiful section of the Ocean to Lake Hiking Trail can have a few wet spots, so prepare accordingly. Though it has been dry lately. We will walk along part of the Loxahatchee River, so expect mud and water.
There are stretches with no shade, so bring plenty of water and any sun protection that you may need. I recommend a minimum of two liters. I will turn you away if you do not bring enough water. One water bottle will not cut it. Also, bring any sunscreen, bug repellant, and snacks that you prefer.
The pace of this hike is quite fast and the level is strenuous. There will be no options for making this a shorter hike, so please only sign up if you know you are able to complete the entire twelve miles. Yes, we will take short breaks along the way (as needed), and a longer break at the halfway point.
