As you may of heard, KING Charter Schools is set to be the first public plant-based elementary school in the world and opening right in Pinellas County, Florida.
They are planning a fund-raiser! It is the Sustainability Carnival and will be on January 12 at the City of Seminole Recreation Department. FVA totally supports this effort and would like to help them find volunteers for this special first of its kind event.
This carnival will not only be a fund raiser for KING Charter Schools, but also help spread the word to parents and give them information about the school and an application for intent to enroll. It will include like minded charities who have similar philosophies to join in and design and coordinate a game that will teach children the importance of compassion, environmental sustainability, or health sustainability in a fun way.
Here is a list of planned activities:
Your kids will learn:
How to compost
Use renewable energy sources
Importance of organic farming
And enjoy fun activities like:
Make your own eco friendly paint
Fun crafts from sustainable and recycled items
Plenty of fun games to learn about our planet, the animals that we live with and plants!
Cutest pet contest!
Great speakers for the adults
Giant community sale to buy gently used toys and kid items plus more!
Their will also be guest speakers, delicious plant-based food and many other things for adults in the community. A fun event that has a great learning purpose!
Please check out their Facebook event page and share.
Then go to their volunteer sign up sheet and volunteer for the day. BE part of history, Pinellas county first vegan school!
