Hi there

I don't like rules and for nearly four years have run this group on a 'Modus Operandi' basis - a way of doing things which has been suitable for the way the group has been operating in this length of time. However, as we've become a bigger group now 10K+ members, attracting more people, and of course we are highly visible on the WWW, we need to put a few things in place to ensure the quality of our events and selectivity of people who attend, attract the right members and to be able to continue to run the events in the same way. We want members who are committed to our events and committed to our group values to attend... Therefore....

Profile Photos - A clear profile photo may now be required for membership/meets. I understand there may be occasions when people do not want to use a profile photo and very good reasons for this- but as a general rule, organisers reserve the right to remove selected members from the group until they have provided a profile picture.

Photography - Please read our PHOTOGRAPHY DISCLAIMER. Photography will be used at some of/all of our meetups by both organisers, hosts and members. If you're not comfortable with either organisers or members taking your photos, videos, broadcasts at our meets, please consider the suitability of our meetups for yourself.

RSVP/No Shows
- Please do not RSVP if you're not going to attend to events - people who no show may be removed from the group - FS ATTENDANCE AND NO SHOW POLICY. Members who no show at our paid events will still be due to pay the event fee for that meetup and will be mailed post event to arrange payment

No RSVP No Entry: If you do not RSVP for a meetup and/or are not a member of our group, you will not gain entry. At our group meets, we want members who are committed to our group and committed to our events. We do not want people who are wandering around town on an evening, do a 'Google search' & spontaneously join our group and turn up to our events with no idea about who we are or what we do because they want 'something to do' on the night. We also use this method to maintain the M to F ratio at our events and to ensure that the people who are at the events are aware what we do, how we do things and why we do things this way.

Free Events - Free Events are provided as a low cost opportunity for new members to have an introduction to the group, and for existing members to catch up with other members and meet new members and make friends. And to make the group accessible to all. These events are subject to your provision of email address for the Flying Solo mailing list. We do not guarantee M to F ratio at these meets - members can see as well as organisers can - how many people are on the guest list and how many are male female etc & make an their own personal informed choice whether to join the event or not. The area, offers, arrangements and complimentary food/drinks are provided by the venue - subject to members spending money at the venue - We try to choose venues that attract members and have reasonable drinks prices and/or offers. People who refuse to pay for drinks or drink tap water will not be admitted to our reserved area or included in the meetup

M to F ratio - We do not guarantee M to F at our events - if this is something that is going to affect your enjoyment of the event - please don't RSVP/Attend. Members can see from the list how many of each M or F have RSVP'd as well as organisers can - you can make your own informed choice based on this information.

Attitude/Behaviour - We are a friendly, warm & welcoming group of people. Please come to events with a positive attitude and be respectful & polite to other members - including event organisers & hosts, our DJs and staff at the venues we use. This extends to communication on our messageboards including event reviews & group reviews. We do not tolerate 'isms' of any description -this includes (but is not limited to) Racism, Sexism & Ageism. People who display attitude/behaviour that is incompatible with our group values will be removed from the group and we reserve the right to remove anyone demonstrating inappropriate behaviour from our events.
