What we're about

Join us to enjoy live folk and traditional music. Hear live artists at our Concerts. Jam with other amateur musicians. Contra dance to a live band!

It's all hosted by "The Living Tradition", a non-profit formed in 1982 to preserve and promote traditional (live) folk music and its newer forms, plus contra dancing. We are friendly. Our events are smoke-free, alcohol-free, and open to all.

Our Concerts feature artisans of contemporary and traditional folk music at the low cost of $18 (unless otherwise noted). TLT members pay only $15. The concerts begin at 7:30 (please arrive earlier) on 3rd Saturdays (almost all). Children under 18 are free with a paid adult.

Our Contra Dances begin with a free lesson at 7:10pm. Dancing costs from $8 to $10 (kids free w/paid adult). The dancing begins at 7:30; final waltz at 10:30 pm - on most 4th Saturdays.

Enjoy our acoustic Jam from 5 to 6:45pm, on most 4th Saturdays. A donation of $2 is requested.

Learn more about our events at www.TheLivingTradition.org (for the annual schedule, video, audio, photos, and more). Here's a video of our jam and contra dance:
