This backpacking trip is for someone who is relatively new to backpacking or who has never backpacked before. This trip could also be for someone who just wants a laid-back overnight in the woods. It does take some effort to drive there for a short trip, but the views and the experience is worth it. We will hike the 5 miles to Jennie Lake on Saturday morning. Jennie lake is where we will spend Saturday night. The lake is at approx. 8,800 feet. After a leisurely Sunday morning, we will pack up and head back to our cars. Even though this event is labeled as a beginner’s backpacking trip you will need to be physically fit enough to carry all of your gear five miles, with a 1,500’ elevation gain at an elevation of 8,000’ . If you have concerns about your ability to do this backpacking trip and would like to discuss it , feel free to contact me. I don’t speed hike I have a slow to moderate pace taking the time to enjoy what’s around. I am not a professional guide but I have been backpacking for many years and spent a lot of multi night trips in the Yosemite/Sequoia/Kings Canyon areas. For anyone who does not have backpacking gear I do have enough spare gear for one male and one female. This extra gear will be loaned to the first two people that ask for it. If you are going and want to invest in purchasing gear I can help and recommend some items. For those of you that want to go we can discuss the details of the trip such as what to bring and how to get there. We would want to have a small meetup to cover the details and answer all your questions
My wife and I like to travel and explore as much as possible. We found vary reasonable flights out of LAX and decided to spend the last half of December oversees. We are leaving December 15th and returning December 31st. The plan is to start in Paris but there is no set agenda, but other parts of France are being considered. If there is time maybe a quick jump over to Amsterdam for a day or two. If you are interested, click you are going, and we could meet for coffee to discuss the details and see if this trips for you. If you decide it’s not for you then you can just change it the status to not going. You must be Easy-Going, spontaneous, and open to being a little bit of a tourist. When we go on trips, we like to keep things moderately priced no extravagant hotels, or daily Michelin star restaurants for us. The goal is good food, fun, museums, and exploring. If you need some down time or you want to see something else, we don’t have to always be out in a group. You can join the trip for some of the days or all of them depending on your availability and budget. I am not a travel agent, but we can work together to get things booked and confirmed.
