Bacon and Beer Pairing at Hop Gardens

Do you like BACON? How about BEER? If so, this event is for you.

We'll once again open our Sacramento Beer Week events by pairing beer with bacon from our friends at Sonoma County Meat Company.

Honey & Lavender Bacon will be paired with a Saison du Blé (Blend 10), 6% abv, from @sideprojectbrew

Salt & Thyme Bacon will be paired with Rising Together, a 6.7% abv IPA from @flatlandbrewing

Maple with Chili Flake Bacon will be paired with Good Night Dark Sky, an 11% abv, Imperial Stout by @finbackbrewery brewed in collaboration with @duggesbryggeri

This event begins at 2 PM and continues until their 10 PM closing. I will post the beers, once they have been announced.

Grilled Cheese & Craft Beer Pairing! Imagine four quarters of four different artisan grilled cheese sandwiches perfectly paired with a Flight of Four 4oz beers.

This is the perfect excuse to indulge in a melty, gooey, golden sandwich paired with award winning craft beer that is sure to enhance this dreamy culinary experience!

Hand-rubbing this cheddar with wine must imparts notes of wine and fruit near the rind and a rich creamy cheese in the center.

Red Butte Hatch Chile

Beautifully layered like Entrada Sandstone of the American Southwest, this cheddar is tumbled with Hatch chiles, then rubbed with a spice blend that balances creamy and smoky with a proper balance of heat. The coriander in the rub on the rind gives a mellow lemony undertone.


The buttery cheddar rubbed with rosemary becomes lively with snappy, citrus-like fruity notes. It warms your tongue and leaves a subtle note in your mouth with a hint of rosemary.


Modeled after a Holstein cow’s spots, this cheddar is rubbed with Regalis Black Truffle Carpaccio, honey and truffle salt, giving it a savory nose of earthy truffle tones and a delicious mushroom finish.


To get rich, elevated umami (re: savory) flavors, this cheddar is hand-rubbed with porcini mushrooms, which imparts earthy notes throughout the cheese.
