Relay for Life June 1 st

Force E please come out and join us as we relay underwater for 18 hours!! The event is June 1st from 6 am to 12 midnight, each team will have someone in the water the entire time. We will raise money to benefit the American Cancer Society!

    As the day of the event arrives we come to realize we may have questionable wave patterns. Like any diving event we will make the call on the morning of the event when we get a look at the conditions for that day. We all know 95% of the time the forecast is wrong and we hope this is one of those times. Please do not loose site of the fact that this is a Relay for Life event and we are here to support the American Cancer Society and help them raise money for Cancer research and bring awareness to this awful disease. If you arrive at the beach and you determine you are not comfortable with the diving conditions then please walk the surface event for your allotted time. We have fun live music, food, raffles, and people who have been touched by cancer waiting to interact with our divers, so stay and enjoy the event. We look forward to seeing your there, working together we have made a difference!

    OK, the new guy around here doesn't' want to monopolize the conversation here, but last week we added some great music to the R4L event... just another great reason to spend your day in LBTS. The Bulldogs, a very good 8 piece band that I heard live last Saturday, will be our entertainment headliner for the evening. They will absolutely have the crowd singing and dancing for their entire show. They will be playing from approximately 6:30 to 10:30 at night. It will be a great night to bring your family and friends. OK, I'm turning off the sales plug....

    Hey everyone, I’m new to the group, but I'm on the R4L committee & have been working with Kim. Here’s a “+1” on something Kim has said: If you’re diving as a part of the event, BRING YOUR C CARDS...

    This unique event that has garnered national attention from the American Cancer Society and of course safety is first and foremost. While it’s terrific that we’re having so many divers participate, there is no way that we know each and every diver. Therefore bringing your C-Cards is mandatory…

    To participate, using the R4L parking and diver staging area, you will have to show your Card and sign a waiver. It’s the only way we’ll know that all the divers are certified, and that everyone who goes in the water has also come out. I’m sorry to be the bad-cop here, but you are going to be turned away from the diver’s staging area without a C card and signing the waiver.

    I hope you understand, and the leadership committee for the Relay for Life Air and Sea appreciate your support..

    As the Relay for Life Air and Sea drawn into its final week of preparation and I review the dive schedule and the Diver Sign In/Out Gazebo schedule I notice the need in the following areas.
    6:00 am we need a second person for our divers sign in gazebo.
    12:00 noon we need divers to dive and a second person to work the divers sign in gazebo.
    2:00 pm a second person to work the divers sign in gazebo.
    4:00 pm a second person to work the divers sign in gazebo.
    8:15 pm we need divers to dive.
    9:00 pm we need divers to dive.
    10:30 pm we need divers to dive.

      This event is weather dependent. If we cannot dive we can enjoy the live music and walk the track for your team on land. If you need to cancel please be sure to send an email to your team captain to let us know. We do not want any diver left without a buddy.
      Also after you dive be sure to plan on staying around at this family friendly event and enjoy live music, and great food catered in by local restaurants.

    What a great meeting and I am thrilled to be working with each one of you.
    Let’s get this party started by selling a few Luminarie Lights for Mitch Herman from Team DivingItRight. What a great job he did hosting the meeting tonight and he energy is so positive. Then we have our Mermaids (and out Mermaid lovers) that tirelessly work to raise funds as well as have fun and look good doing it, who always ask the right question and share creative ideas. Team DiveBar our team of legal professional who are here to help with a can do attitude. Gold Coast Divers are willing to step up and fill all the time slots needed because they are the group who really dives. And finally Team Force E Divers and Vone Research Who just got started and have brought excellence in diving as well as leadership abilities to the table. By working together we can make a difference.

      Community garage sale:
      Start collecting gently used items to sale in a community garage sale. We will all contribute to this event and all donate a little time for this garage sale. All monies will be split between the water teams. This sale will be in the month of May so start collecting items now. .
      Community Raffle:
      Please solicit business owners to participating in this raffle by donating big ticket items to this event. They will keep the item in their store and sale raffle tickets, they will be allowed to keep the wholesale cost of their item, they will transport their item to the raffle and we will continue to sale tickets on the day of the event.
      Group dinners:
      Contact your local restaurant and see if you bring in your friends to have dinner and drinks if they will donate 25% of the check to ACS.
      We can make a difference divers so let’s do this.
