This is a fun event for Kids and adults of all ages.
We have all seen the bright stars in the night sky but the brightest of them are often Planets. Mars is visible in the late evening just as it gets dark this winter so come out and see the Red Planet and our celestial neighbor.

The Ford Amateur Astronomy Club will be hosting a free Astronomy Beginners Night at Island Lake State Recreational Area by Kent Lake Beach

Come talk to the astronomers, Look through their telescopes and ask as many questions as you like from experienced Astronomers.

We will also have two Solar System Ambassadors from NASA/JPL.

The event is free and open to all ages, You do need a State Park recreational passport to enter the park.

Once you enter the park follow the Astronomy Event Signs.

If you have a telescope of your own and need assistance setting it up or learning how to use it, we can help.

Event starts at 7PM. If you need help with a telescope be there before 7PM so we can assist you setting up in the daylight

It is an outdoor event so dress for the cold.
