What we're about

These are forest bathing sessions for carers in need of some deep relaxation and "me time" in Nature.
I offer you a chance to slow down, let go of your burdens and reconnect with yourself through gentle sensory invitations in a beautiful woodland.
That is the baseline.
From there, there is the opportunity to develop your own unique connection to the natural world. Find support and kinship within the group and with the plants, rocks, waters, trees, feathered and furred kin.
Receive the balance and healing that is available to you from the Natural world.
Learn simple creative and sensory invitations to continue your practice outside the group with the people you love.

I am a certified guide with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs (https://www.natureandforesttherapy.org/). Both my Wanders for well-being and Creative Journeys incorporate the standard sequence taught by the ANFT. They also support the 5 ways to mental wellbeing advocated by our NHS.

Give something back

Relate to other people

Exercise your body

Appreciate your world

Try something new

Nature and forest Therapy has an evidence-based framework, established by the ANFT Association of Nature and Forest Therapy, for supporting wellness and health through guided immersive walks in forests and other natural environments. The approach draws on the Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku, as well as nature connection practices and the Way of Council. To find out more book a walk (https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/o/emma-capper-17218976974) with me or read more here (https://www.natureandforesttherapy.org/about/practice).

These wanders are forest bathing sessions for carers in need of some deep relaxation and "me time" in Nature. I offer you a chance to slow down, let go of your burdens and reconnect with yourself through gentle sensory invitations Wanders for well-being are guided gentle walks incorporating optional invitations to enable you to relax and quieten your busy mind so you can receive the medicine and wisdom of the natural environment. I offer other wanders on the estate which you can book through eventbrite. First we will gather and shake off the road dust. I invite you to leave behind your burdens and responsibilities for the next couple of hours as we step into the moment, savouring with all our senses the atmosphere of the gardens at Dartington. I will help you to awaken your senses and creative muse with a series of carefully crafted invitations culminating in a simple tea ceremony. The route will be no more than a mile, the terrain generally gentle and suitable for all levels of fitness. This is not a hike or a nature walk where we identify species. It is an opportunity to be fully present in your senses, experiencing the natural environment from an authentic place of heart with the curiosity of a child. It is deeply relaxing and playful experience as you tune into the plant and animal world with the senses our ancestors used to thrive and survive. Please wear clothes to suit the weather and bring a snack to share. I will provide a herb tea and sit mats. www.creativejourneys.org.uk
