The Korean DMZ

The Korean Demilitarized Zone (Hangul: 한반도 비무장지대; Hanja: 韓半島非武裝地帶) is a strip of land running across the Korean Peninsula that serves as a buffer zone between North and South Korea which runs along the 38th parallel north. The DMZ cuts the Korean Peninsula roughly in half, crossing the 38th parallel on an angle, with the west end of the DMZ lying south of the parallel and the east end lying north of it. It was created as part of the Korean Armistice Agreement between North Korean, People's Republic of China, and United Nations Command forces in 1953.

A chance border incident that can potentially ignite a greater regional conflict. Operators will be assigned as North Korean patrol/South Korean patrol/U.S. observer.

NOTE:

Operators will be assigned as Red or Blue Team. The scenario will be played base on the above event. No uniform requirement. Operators will be given an arm band to signify their team affiliation.

Hooah! Another great OP Gemlee! We just need to regulate those zombies... I have a couple ideas LOL

Blue rags can help in identifying the offenders but its not 100%. I think a stronger cadre presence enforcing hits on zombies and removing them from the field until the next scenario and perma ban if it continues.

I heard i have to have a parent/guardian on the feild with me if in under 18. Is that true

    April 26, 2013

    • Lee (Flea) W.

Correct me if I'm wrong Gemlee, but I believe 18 and under need full face protection.

      1 · April 27, 2013

    • Gemlee

Correct. Flea. Full facial mask for anyone under 18 years of age. However, operators that are 16 and up can operate on their own without parental supervision.

waivers are kept for a year and are tracked by Call sign. your call sign should be matched with your meetup login name. this is how we keep track of you. waivers need to be filled out each year, but not at every event. if you have already played one of our events and have all ready filled out a waiver then you will not need to do so at the upcomming events.

Thank you all that signed up for Saturday's Skirmish. Please try to make it on time. We will base the scenario on the amount of folks that RSVP. I appreciate the folks that gave a courtesy of cancelling their RSVP due to real life issues (or change of plan). The final manifest will be as posted. Those that show up without RSVPing will be placed on random team (as needed) to accommodate each given scenario. MAX FIELD CAPACITY HAS BEEN REACH BASE ON CADRE TO OPERATOR RATIO 1:10 Thank you again and we will see you down range!!

    April 24, 2013

    • Gemlee

D.P...there is a space available now. (2030 hrs)

      April 24, 2013

  • Gemlee

Gentlemen. As we near the max capacity of operators for Saturday, be advice that RSVP ends on Thursday. If you have any change of plans and unable to attend, do the right thing and UN-RSVP so that others may attend. On a different note, as we build our community of operators here in this Meetup Group, please assimilate to how we do business during our event. Lead, Follow or get out of the way. Call your hits. Play with honor. This is not X-box but a real sport that requires some physical exertion and risk of getting injured. So lick your wounds if your hurt and carry on with your mission. You will be in the company of real veterans with real combat experience and several wounded soldiers. Please acknowledge their sacrifice and what they do in your behalf so that you can sleep at night. Hooahhh??? See you all down range!!!

ATTENTION ALL SNIPERS. Please bring a secondary weapon other than a sniper gun to the meetup. You need to prove that you have been to a sniper qualification course to play the role of a sniper. We had some complaints of some folks shooting too close while sniping. We also need to limit the number of sniper operator per team in some of the scenarios. Let me know if you plan to play sniper.

Lonewolf...don't worry so much to what team you are going to be assign to. We will try to accomodate your preference but its ultimately the need of the scenario which will determine your unit affiliation. (as in the need of the Army)

GEMLEE are there rent on site guns so i could rent a gun for the game? if so how much would that be? just in case my jg m4 is over 400

    April 5, 2013

    • Dylan_Pain

You would be able to use the M4 but you would have to use the sniper rules.

      April 5, 2013

    • Gemlee

Indeed, Dylan_Pain is correct. However, starting this coming event, sniper is limited to operators that had been through the sniper course. We had quiet a few complaints of folks that might have been shooting too close while sniping. Bring your weapon and we will CHRONO it at the site. If it is shooting higher than 400 (+ or - 10) we can determine by how much and how far you can engage. Hoooahh??
