What we're about

Fort Worth Gamers, founded in 2001, play mainly Euro type board and card games (prime examples: The Settlers of Catan, Carcassonne, Puerto Rico, El Grande, Imhotep, Citadels, Alhambra and San Juan), with a few abstracts (like: Ingenious, Talat, Hive, and Mancala) and an occasional light historical wargame (like: Quartermaster General, Memoir '44, and Duel in the Dark) mixed in for good measure. No experience is required and newcomers are always welcome. To see what we've been playing check out our session reports, which are posted to newsgroup dfw.games .

Fort Worth Gamers charges dues of $10 per year (cash only) for members who have attended at least three sessions. This is to help the organizer recoup the $211 per year MeetUp charges to maintain the group.

Saturday Afternoon Board Gaming

Needs a location

Come join us for our regularly scheduled gaming!

We meet in the Hulen Mall (http://www.hulenmall.com/) Food Court from 1:00 - 4:00 pm, every Saturday (unless impacted by a major holiday). We normally occupy two to three of the six seat high top tables. No gaming experience is required. Newcomers are welcome.

I would suggest attendees arrive early (perhaps at 12:40) if they’d like to eat lunch before they game. Why? Because regardless what the CDC said recently about face masks, only 36% of the US has been fully immunized. So we will still be wearing masks for the foreseeable future. And I strongly suggest you do as well. For we won’t be gaming with you otherwise. That might sound blunt, but lives may be at stake. Therefore I think the old adage, “better safe than sorry,” applies to this transitional period. Besides, wearing a mask is still Hulen Mall policy per their website.

Also, if you arrive early to eat (or end up staying later than 4 PM and want to eat) please do so at another table, as I really don’t think you can eat/drink with your mask on.

Feel free to bring a game or two. Though please adhere to the kinds we play (mainly the Euro type, and a very few abstracts and light historical wargames).

Please be punctual. We start the games as close to 1:00 pm as possible. If you are late and everyone is already involved in a game when you arrive, you may have to wait an hour or more to join the next game.

The earlier you RSVP the better (at least by Friday evening, if possible). For it gives those that bring games time to select games that will handle the number and experience level of those attending. And remember, even an RSVP of no is very helpful, as it keeps us from wasting time waiting on "regulars" we assume are probably coming, but really aren't.
