Join Access Silicon Valley for a live workshop on data security presented by Procopio attorney Elaine Harwell. SUMMARY From Facebook to Equifax, the last couple of years have seen no shortage of high profile privacy scandals and security mishaps. Given the seemingly constant barrage of headlines, it should come as no surprise that the legal landscape for data privacy laws has experienced a monumental shift. California has contributed to that shift by passing the nation’s first comprehensive data privacy law known as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). If you intend to collect information from your customers (and let’s be frank, who doesn’t?), join us for Part 1 of this 2-part data privacy series to discuss how the top three data privacy laws might impact your startup. The speaker will discuss the CCPA, Europe’s comprehensive data privacy law, the GDPR and state data breach laws. Dinner and refreshments are provided. Space is extremely limited. RSVP early. ******************************************************************* AGENDA 6:00 pm - 6:45 pm: Dinner/refreshments, networking, 6:45 pm - 7:00 pm: Demo Table/Sponsor Introductions 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm: Presentation, Q & A ********************************************************************** About the Speaker: Elaine F.
