Hey all,

Let's get right to it:

1. Wanna be on Shark Tank? The TV show with venture capitalists is holding an open casting call on May 9th at the Shedd Aquarium. The first 500 people to arrive will be guaranteed to be seen. There's no fee, but there is anapplication here.

2. On May 22, Dun & Bradstreet is offering Access to Capital. Get your discounted ticket over here. Get to know the various paths to funding your biz at this event!

3. Wanna learn a new skill, make lifelong friends & shake it up a bit? Try Fear Experiment -- people who are “bad” at a particular art form sign up solo to learn how to get better at it with a group of strangers. Rehearsals go for three months, and then you get to perform in front of 700+ at the Park West. What art forms? Dance, improv, a capella, and stepping. You choose one. Info session attendance is required for all applicants. Sign up here.

4. There are only 50 tix to 312 Digital's next class, Introduction to Social Media, on May 22nd. They have a terrific lineup of speakers read to go: Mana Ionescu (@manamica) will cover the importance of Google+ pages for business. Mike Dwyer (@cruiter) will talk about LinkedIn for business. Elly Deutch (@deutche) will cover all the aspects of a successful Facebook business page. Rachel Yeomans (@rachelyeomans) will talk about how to successfully use Twitter to build a business network. Use code is FoundingMom or this link to get your discounted ticket.

5. Nominations are now open for the 2013 Chicago Innovation Awards, the largest celebration of innovation in the Chicago region. Whether you work for a large company or small start-up, for-profit or non-profit, high-tech or low-tech, across all industries, nominate your new product or service for this year's awards.  Nominations will be accepted through July 26th. Winners will be celebrated to 1500 business and civic leaders and innovation supporters at the Harris Theater on October 30th. Nominate your biz here.

See you soon,

Jill
