RE: [Web-Technology-of-Frederick] Introductions

What a terrific way to make introductions.  I wrote a couple of pages, but then decided it would be best to address a couple of highlights and explain my overall interest in joining the meet up.

The past:   <http://www.fredericknewspost.com/sections/news/display.htm?storyID=83670> and http://www.fredericknewspost.com/sections/blogs/display_Comments_Blog.htm?blogID=2639&bid=7

Present:  <http://www.legacysip.com>

Near term future:  Re-launching http://onnetdirectory.com

Although my family and I have lived in Frederick for 13 years I’ve had little contact with local folks.  Mostly I’m locked in a room managing remote operations or at those remote locations.  I don’t get out much at all…

I'm interested in meeting local technologists, and in discovering unique mobile applications that can help folks in the Middle East and Africa make the best use of newly acquired broadband connectivity for a project I'm involved with.

I'm looking forward to meeting the attendees tomorrow night and future meet ups.

Claude

Hiya techies,

My name is Chris Rhoads and I'm the co-founder of Live Pulse, an interactive strategy firm, and ezGFEs, a SaaS startup. I have over 10 years of expertise with websites, internet strategy, apps and mobile data solutions. At Live Pulse, I'm the "Chief Architect" behind most projects and match client business requirements with technology solutions to ensure development efforts are always in line with project goals. I'm a bit of a coder, UX designer, but primarily a business analyst and interactive guy.

I have executed projects for over 400 clients including Major League Baseball, Sprint Nextel, MetLife, Starbucks, the ACLU and numerous colleges and universities. I love solid information architecture, wireframing and smooth product development, and have a strong passion for good user experience design and user interface functionality.

I'm an "Innovation Fellow" for ConvergeUS, a nonprofit started by Twitter's Biz Stone and TechNet's Ray Ramsey. I actually leave for our annual conference in San Francisco tomorrow and will be working with Craig Newmark (of Craigslist) and other techies to develop a program rating system for the National Military Family Association. This will be my first year on board so I'm pretty excited to dig in!

Before founding Live Pulse and ezGFEs, I was the Director of Business Development at Virtual Atlantic – a design, software & marketing firm – where I was responsible for acquiring and managing key client accounts. Prior to that, I started my career at Adcomm Digitel, working with some of the first mobile apps and smartphones on the Nextel network.  I live in Frederick with my wife Tia and our three daughters.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to attend any Frederick meetups yet, but I definitely look forward to it in the future!

Hello Frederick Web Technologists.

I'm taking an idea from the DC PHP User Group and starting an introductions thread. All are invited to introduce yourselves and mention what you do, and who you do it for. This is also an opportunity to say whether or not you're looking for work, or looking for talent- so speak up!

My name is Kevin Bruce and I started this group about 3 years ago, mainly because there were no groups for web folk like us in Frederick. I'm a designer/developer, which means I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts, but can also code OOP PHP. I recently started a company with 3 other developers (that a way better than me) called Musketeeers.me. We build sites for large companies as well as web apps for all to use (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/eliw/bubblesorter-and-gridsorter-two-new-web-applicatio).

I don't manage this group all by myself, as I have frequent help from co-organizers Josh Trout and Michael Guill. Thanks guys!

Ok- reply to start introducing yourselves!
