What we're about

No new memberships will be approved, since I'll be disbanding this group in September. Instead you are invited to join Rancho Cucamonga LGBTQ etc., etc.Meet and Greet, where I will host the same events hosted here, and more!

This group is intended as an alternative to the many photography groups which charge significant fees to participate in events. Without additional fees, this group will:

--Organize day trip outings to natural areas to photograph landscapes,
--Organize multi-day photo outings, principally to California deserts, Utah, Arizona, and the east side of California
--Provide instruction (if requested) in the use of photography equipment,
--Provide guidance and ideas relating to photographic (landscape) composition,
--Share information on exhibitions, contests; and preparing entries.

Understand that there will be minimal, incidental costs (food, fuel, lodging, etc.) for participants, but these will be kept at a minimum through, for instance, carpooling and potluck picnic lunches.

There will be no membership dues, per se. For now, members are invited to voluntarily contribute a $5 a year donation to help offset $80/year costs incurred by the Meetup people. The organizer makes no money from these events. You can make your contribution at the carpool point at the start of an event.

Alternately, you can contribute via Paypal to Pat92877Nov@gmail.com. (I refuse to use the billing system offered by Meetup.) Please let me know who you are so that I can record your contribution.

A few guys have been posting comments with porn urls to various meetup groups, hence I screen membership applications, basically to protect members.

The organizer of this group is a registered landscape architect (with a design degree) and semi-professional fine art photographer who works exclusively in medium and large format (film) photography. (Digital equipment will be tolerated, LOL)

Retired from a career in landscape architecture, she is now free to explore art for the sake of art, with no mind toward generating income in doing so. She has extensive experience in organizing and leading outings for a well known environmental group.

This is an LQBTQ-friendly group (The organizer is transgender.) We are welcoming of all genders, races, and sexual orientations. It's about the art, silly! If you have issue with this, you are recommended to find another group.

This will take time to get established. Please join, if interested, and be patient. The goal is to organize a photo trip at least once a month, but this will require a minimum threshold of member involvement.

While members are invited to post photos, I'd like to see these limited to material acquired during one of our meetups. At the same time, I don't want to use this as a gallery. Let's limit our contributions, taken during a meetup in which you participate, to one or two images.

Please Note: This group, for the time being, will be limited to under 50 members. New member requests will supplant those who have been least active.

Membership requires approval. (It's kind of to help protect you from wolves.) You must have a face picture in your profile (I will look into ways of making your profile here visible only to other members.) Members who do not put a face picture in their group profile will be left behind. (How can we count you if we can't SEE you?)

There will be no membership dues, per se. For now, members are invited to voluntarily contribute a $5 a year donation to help offset membership fees imposed by the Meetup zoomies. The organizer makes no money from these events. You can make a contribution at the carpool point at the start of an event. I also recogmnize raw salmon as legal tender.
