Let's meet to play ukulele, sing, and have fun.

We meet every Thursday, unless it falls on a holiday or our hosting venue is having a special event. Our hosting venue is the Eastgate Cafe in the Oak Park Arts District, who generously provides their dining room to us without a fee.. We sing songs found in that week's song-packet. Food and beverages are available for purchase from our hosting venue.

The song-sheet packet for this meetup is Faves & Raves! Volume 3, Rev 5. If you are a member, you can download the current packets by bringing up the Song-sheet Packet for the Next Meetup page.  Click on the page name to go there now.

I liked "Tie Me Kangaroo Down" and also felt that "Wagon Wheel" had every one singing and playing with gusto! Also, can't go wrong with "White Christmas". Looking forward to this Thursday and more carols.

I really enjoyed Dear Abby by John Prine.

Yes, John Prine redeemed himself in my eyes, since I find his Let's Talk Dirty in Hawaiian distasteful. Blah.

Well, was it another damn good meetup? You bet your sweet ass it was. Mock my words, it only gets better from here. You guys sound better than ever. We missed a few sickos, but the sickos who showed up were awesome. Favorite song kept changing. Lisa's Christmas carols were both contenders, and I thought that last night's Wagon Wheel had a ton of energy. Rain, too, sounded great. Sorry - can't choose.

Agree with the Christmas carols being contenders. My favorite part of Christmas.

Michael intrigued me with 'Tie Me Kangaroo Down', Sport... I just had to google the missing verse. Glad for the PC version. Glad for the history lesson. Very interesting story. Thanks!

I loved this packet. I like every song in it. I think my favorite song was Deep River Blues.

Here's a video from Salvation Army's youth ukulele group. up to ten ukulele's were donated from frusop
members thanks again!!! This was a concert of all the kids music groups, in our gym. We only had 11 ukuklele kids that night, normally we have close to 20. frusops own Donna Ulatowsky was down front helping to lead also. face book will ask you to log in, but you dont have to just hit not now, to see the video

Steve - I have 2 Sam Ash gift cards for the cause - one from me and one from David. If a couple of others want to kick one in, you can get another new uke for the kids.

Darn, my one and only Sam Ash card expired! But I'll kick in some cash. Remind me!

If you went to this meetup, please rate it and leave a comment including the name of your favorite song we sang:

I had about six favorite songs, but if I have to settle on one it'll be Sunny Afternoon.
