Introduce yourself - tell us about your current position, company, interest and/or experience in the Freemium space, etc. No time for typing? LinkedIn or personal URL is fine!

Working on an app called Hylyt.it can allows you the remember the best of everything you read. I am the founder.

Are you currently involved with a company/product that is using the Freemium business model? (If yes, please tell us about it. If not, please let us know your interest in joining Freemium SF/Bay Area Meetup.)

The Beta is currently free. Looking for different ways to monetize in the long run.

If you have an opinion about the Freemium business/marketing model, please share it with us!

People often aren't willing to pay for apps. Most people monetize off of ads, and looking at the numbers of freemium using apps, where you're lucky if 5% of users are in the paying section, that and in-app purchases make sense. But in-app purchases and ads feel unprofessional, so I'm interested in learning more about freemium. The ideal monetization strategy I am vying for in the long run is like Duolingo's: use user data, but for good rather than just to sell them crap.

Are you interested in speaking at the Meetup? Are there any people or companies you'd like to hear speak on pricing or business models? If yes, please send us an email freemteam@kachingle.com

No. I met Francis Dinha recently and he told me to come by. I'd love to hear about whether anyone has had success with hybrid freemium/in-app pricing models. i.e. Freemium will get you features a, b, and c. Or buy feature c now for $0.70…
