THE BEAUTY OF THE PHOTOGRAPHIC DARKROOM
Some of us have spent enormous amounts of time in a traditional darkroom with chemicals and paper and the scent of acetic acid in the air. Beautiful prints did not appear like magic -- most took lots of work. But it was work we loved.
For the most careful workers, Photoshop provides tools that are reminiscent of the care and detail and attention of the chemical darkroom days.
One such tool is luminosity masking -- a detailed method of isolating tone ranges within an image for careful enhancements. The result is often a spectacular realization of the photographer's imagination that the original camera image only hinted at.
We will discuss, design, and implement luminosity masks in this class. We will also provide a method for you to AUTOMATE the creation of the "raw materials" of the luminosity masking process.
This class will have 8 attendees only so that I can look over everyone's shoulder as you do the work. Because of the small class, I'm charging a fee for signup.
