Machine Learning (ML) is quite swiftly establishing itself as one of the essential ingredients of our lives and is now strongly rooted in every commercial and non-commerical undertaking. The curious minds and the relentless learners among us obviously, do not want to be left behind and sit idle. We want to learn, explore and would love to contribute if we can.

Although, most of us are very excited about the area, we often find it rather difficult to dedicate time on a regular basis or sometimes even start to with. We hope this group can fill this gap by creating an active and agile environment.

In this group, we plan on bringing together ML enthusiasts with different backgrounds and to build a platform for primarily organizing events to do the following,

1. To introduce ideas in ML to non-experts.
2. To bring together enthusiasts and host competitions or solve problems together.
3. Actively brainstorm and come up with new ideas, in terms of problems that one can address in various fields using ML.
4. We might also include discussions on philosophical implications of ML and AI in general.

5. Stay away from fancy jargon and stick closer to actual problem solving and understanding (for instance, not using words like deep and AI out of context)
6. Above all, staying active in the field propelled by constant interaction.

P.S: This a brand new group, so I plan on coming up with concrete agenda and events based on the response, feedback, number of participants, their backgrounds, and motivation. The communication will be in English. Participants are expected to have at least some familiarity with programming and mathematics.
