What we're about

This is a meetup for people who want to apply their skills to regenerative impact, both in their local communities and as a global citizen. Particularly we are examining how local communities can be empowered to design innovative tech and finance solutions that address their local needs, like renewable energy and small business incubation.

These meetups are held at a community events space in Red Hook Brooklyn. We will be talking about issues with a focus towards how they could be applied in Red Hook. However we welcome people from all places to brainstorm with us and to explore how ideas could be applied in the greater NYC community.

Questions we are asking:

What would it take for us to be more reliant on our local communities? What kind of local institutions would we like to exist? Are there systems that we need to put in place --e.g. online systems we could build? What do ideas from cryptocurrency, fintech, and renewable energy offer to a local community development context?

We will host talks from people with possible solutions to our issues of rising environmental troubles, social inequality, and tribalism/polarized divides.
