What we're about

This is a group for people interested in learning or playing the card game of bridge. Bridge is played all over the world, and is gaining popularity, particularly among the young. It is an ideal way of meeting people, whether you aim to be an expert or just learn the rules and play socially. Let's see if we can get a group started.

Social bridge in north London

Cool Carrot

Please join us for social bridge in Highgate. Ideal for beginners or people returning to bridge after a long break, but equally for anyone who would like a social game of bridge without the formality of a tournament. You are free to turn up and leave at any time; there is no commitment to arrive at 6 or stay for longer than you are able.

We are privileged to be hosted by Asia at the Cool Carrot, whose curries, beers and wines I can vouch for!

The venue is incredibly close to Highgate tube and multiple bus routes along Archway Road.

TGR's Bridge Club

Come join our Sunday evening social Bridge meetup at the renowned TGR's bridge club. The aim is to run a new series of meetups on Sundays, to cater for people who prefer Sundays or just want to play more bridge.

Anyone can play bridge and all are welcome - whether you don't know the rules, or want some tips; whether you want to return to bridge after a long break, or just want to play in your own way.

TGR's is a miracle - a bridge club which leases its own premises in the heart of London. "Table Money" of £5.50 is payable (like an entry fee for the evening) and the club have have a fully licensed bar and kitchen where drinks and extraordinary home-cooked hot and cold food are available. Meet the extraordinary chef Ela Szewczyk and club manager and bridge pro Artur Malinowski, and find out more about this long-standing London institution over an evening's social bridge.

Social bridge south of the river

The Royal Oak

Please join us for what we hope will become a regular evening of social bridge in south London. Ideal for beginners or people returning to bridge after a long break, but equally for anyone who would like a social game of bridge without the formality of a tournament. The Royal Oak is one of London’s most traditional pubs, and serves an excellent range of beers, drinks and food which you are strongly encouraged to try!

We should be upstairs in the Chaucer Room.

The closest tube station is Borough but it is also a short walk from London Bridge. If you come out the main station exit onto St Thomas’s Street and follow the signs to Guy’s hospital Minor injuries unit and then keep walking due south through the hospital, down Crosby Row, over Long Lane and you will get to the pub in 5 mins.
