Gold Butte Road Repair Project 2.0

We did so great in 2019 that we're giving it another shot! Clark County Public Works and the Bureau of Land Management have approached us again about putting down more cold patch asphalt to further remedy the paved-ish portion of Gold Butte Road. Our efforts last year culminated in 200 tons of material being used over a twelve-mile stretch.

We are looking for volunteers who'd be willing to spread the material as the truck dumps it in the various potholes along the way. This will involve using a shovel, and the BLM will provide safety instructions and equipment as well as helmets and safety vests, as we will be working along the road.

Many hands make light work, so the plan is to have 10-12 volunteers per weekday, from Monday, March 23 through Thursday, April 2. If you are able, please consider signing up. Those who volunteered last year have said they enjoyed it, and, it's not as hard as they originally thought it would be. There will be a different Meetup for each day, so as to simplify signing up. Please be sure to make a note for yourself if you volunteer multiple days.

You will need to bring lunch for yourself, and remember to wear sturdy shoes and dress in layers. The weather is always unpredictable at this time of year, so be sure you are prepared. We will carpool to the work locations so there will be fewer vehicles along the road, but if you're willing to drive, 4WD won't be needed. Please give Brenda a call at[masked] if you have any questions.
