This meet-up is design for those who would like to engage and learn in nature related activities. The meet-up is sponsered by the Friends of Martin Park Nature Center, a non-profit 501c that provides support to Martin Park Nature Center.  There are a variety of  public events and programs that occur at the park. The Friends of Martin Park support the park in many different ways. Many "Friends" are park volunteers.  The park itself is nestled on 144 acres in the city's northwest side, the park is home to many species of animals, including birds, butterflies, squirrels, fox and reptiles. Lucky visitors may catch a glimpse of a deer, owl, armadillo or other wild animal during their visit. There are 2.5 miles of gentle hiking trails that curl through woods and grasslands of the park.
