The South Cumberland State Park is the largest wilderness state park in Tennessee. It is actually not ONE park, but TEN ... including the fabled Fiery Gizzard, Stone Door, Buggytop Cave, Foster Falls and more. The parks stretch across the top of the plateau from Sewanee to Monteagle and on to Beersheba Springs. The Friends of South Cumberland offers frequent hike led by great folks from the TN Naturalist Program, Sewanee professors, and other experienced guides. We also have opportunities for volunteers who are willing to help with trail work. All ages welcome. Come explore one of the most beautiful wilderness areas in TN. Waterfalls, wildflowers and wonders!
