This is FOW's second trip to Central Park and will focus on the northern portion of the park, the section with the most extravagant floral displays that is seldom visited by tourists. May is when the flowering trees and shrubs of Central Park are at their best, and when thousands of migrating birds will be passing through the area. This guided tour will include: the Harlem Meer with its great old baldcypresses, ginkgos, Turkey oaks, and London planes; the North Woods--a bit of wild forest that existed before Central Park was built; and the Great Hill and the Pool, two beautiful, secluded spots beloved by residents of the Upper Westside. This is an adults-only trip. This is a walking tour, so please be prepared to spend a large amount of the time walking around Central Park.
