Taoism with Kenneth Cohen
Taoism is China’s ancient philosophy of balance and harmony. Ken will offer an overview of the principles and development of Taoism, including an in-depth discussion of its philosophic classic, the Tao Te Ching, as a coded guide to meditation and health. He will also introduce how modern science is validating Taoist mediation’s healing benefits. After the lecture, there will be a book signing for Kenneth’s book, The Way of Qingong: The Art and Science of Chinese Energy Healing. Please bring $5 in cash for the talk if you are not a Historical Museum member. About Kenneth 高漢 Cohen: Kenneth Cohen began learning Chinese nearly 50 years ago due to his love of Taoism. He is the author of The Way of Qigong (Random House) and more than 200 journal articles. Professor Cohen was a collaborator with Alan Watts and the only apprentice to Huang Gengshi [masked]), a Taosit Abbot from Mount Xi Qiao 西樵山, Guangdong.
