What we're about

Travel as a guest, an ambassador, a "family" member...not a traditional tourist. Connect more deeply with people from other countries, see how they live, think, and create. How can you do these things? Through the Friendship Force of Greater Boston! As part of our club, you can meet people of other countries and cultures by staying in their homes and by hosting them when they visit us in Boston. We share meals, conversation and the routines of daily life, creating a unique cultural exchange and lasting friendships. When we visit or host another club, the club organizes a program of activities to introduce the visitors to the local area. Our Friendship Force club is affiliated with Friendship Force International, which was founded in 1977 with the mission "to promote global understanding across the barriers that separate people." There are 375 clubs in 60 countries on six continents.

Current Status

We are a new club and looking to grow. We were recently selected to participate in an "outbound exchange" with a club in Thailand. We are planning the Thailand trip now, for early 2020. We are also looking at hosting an "inbound exchange" of folks from Australia. Some of us have done individual Friendship Force trips, available through the national organization. There is a small annual fee, to help with recruiting and administration costs, to become a full member of the Friendship Force of Greater Boston ($30/year).
