What we're about
This group welcomes anyone who wants to ride their fully faired sport motorcycle, sport touring motorcycle or naked sport motorcycle with us on canyon tarmac for fun and enjoyment. Sunday mornings and occasionally a weekday morning or evening, we will meet for up to 30 minutes at a convenient coffee shop somewhere between Lyons to the North, and Littleton to the South... and proceed to ride a scheduled or impromptu route; generally 90 minutes to a rare maximum of 5 hours. When the weather is dry and the road surface sufficiently warm (April through October) we will be out honing our skills and using the rest of our sport tires that the city streets barely touch. All sport bike riders are welcome from intermediate to expert level on these rides. Safety is very important to us, so in order to participate all riders will need to read and agree to *Rules of the Road* document under the pages tab - visible from your web browser on meetup dot com.
If you are new to sportbike riding --or-- if you have a small displacement engine (below 550cc) --or-- if you ride a non-sport motorcycle of any type, we will also organize an occasional Saturday slow ride - where we don't pass any cars, and strictly follow the speed limits - but are riding on canyon roads. This will help new riders build confidence and learn skills they don't teach in the MSF course. If you are a beginner or you ride a machine the organizer determines will be too slow to follow us safely, you will not be permitted to join in our intermediate+ rides, but you are definitely welcome to come out and chat. Beware: you WILL get talked into owning a different, faster bike!
Questions about our policies or whether you think you'll be a good fit for our spirited riding group? Please directly contact the organizer for clarification.
