#FrontEndParty 12 - Festival Time

  • Apr 24, 2014 · 7:00 PM
  • Oseberg

Howdy all!

Time for another #FrontEndParty, this time sponsored by Trumpet.  If you've never heard of Trumpet, here's the lowdown:

Trumpet is a full-service advertising agency based in New Orleans. We build business for brands by staying focused on a simple truism: Better work works better. The resulting product attracts and orients more customers, turns people into media, and sticks to the roof of your mind. Our tools include strategy, creativity, design, technology, analytics, contrast, surprise and authenticity.

And as always, here's our April 24th lineup:

Matt Shwery

UI Developer / Designer @ Federated Sample

Matt will introduce D3.js, a fantastic library for compelling, custom data-driven visualizations. It provides a wealth of abstraction for composing svgs in the DOM, but is geared towards one-off visuals. Matt will take a look at how we transform d3.js into reusable components.

Bryan Joseph

Software Developer @ OpenSourceNOLA

A discussion about keeping your web or mobile applications functional while disconnected from your servers. We will discuss some practices and technologies that help to make your apps working whether connected or disconnected.

Ben Eckel

Software Developer @ Turboquid

Ionic is a new framework based on Angular.js built to simplify the creation of cross-platform mobile applications. Ben will build a 15 minute sample application and talk about the pros and cons of this approach.

Meetups start at around 7:00pm at Oseberg (What Used To Be The Dojo in the Exchange Centre at 935 Gravier Street, Suite 1650 (go to the 16th floor).

These details and more can be found at
Look forward to seeing yall there!
