Whether you are a weekend warrior or seriously committed to the sport or disciplines of swimming, cycling, or running that make up triathlons, this is the time that nutrition should become an even greater focus for you as you prepare for your race season. Training is only 20% but nutrition is 80%. Imagine if… you can have more energy, recover faster, lean out a bit, get stronger, or race better. What difference would that make to your training and racing? I didn't believe until I made nutrition and rest as important as training. It's not to say I don't enjoy my lattes and pastries but I've learned that it will take more than a pocket full of penut butter and jam sandwiches in my back cycling pocket to keep me fuelled to keep me going on long rides!
