What we're about

Keeping it friendly - Keeping it fun.

This meetup is for anyone interested in photography. All abilities are welcome and the emphasis will be on sharing our knowledge in a fun and relaxed way, learning as we explore London and beyond.

It makes no difference whether you have the latest expensive camera gear or a camera phone, come along and we'll find plenty of interesting things to photograph.

Our events will take us to some of the most iconic locations where you can find that โ€œpostcard" (or Instagram) shot but we will be looking for more than that, your professional guide will encourage you to use your imagination and get creative with your photography. If you are new to photography you will have the opportunity to understand the subject better and improve your picture taking.

Keep an eye out for our special "Photography Experience Days" where we'll be collecting up to 7 lucky photographers from a central London location, transporting them to a unique event and instructing on how to great shots, including using our own professional gear! Just bring a blank SD card! Our Experience Days are not only amazing photographic opportunities but are also difficult to get to - hence we provide the transport!

We look forward to seeing you at one of our events soon.

Richmond Park Deer! - (incl Pro cameras/lenses to borrow!)

Richmond Park

ยฃ30.00

Join us for a magical morning in Richmond Park photographing the deer! Home to over 600 freely roaming wild deer, Richmond Park is the largest enclosed space in London making this an ideal environment to learn wildlife photography. We'll go through the settings and techniques at the beginning of the workshop and we'll be on hand to give expert advice throughout. We have 3 dedicated telephoto setups for you to borrow if required (just bring a blank SD card) or you can borrow our Nikon (F mount) & Canon (EF mount) lenses to use with your own camera body. We also have Canon and Nikon branded extenders (1.4x & 2.0x) that can help you get the shots you want using your own lenses. Sony E-mount cameras aren't forgotten as we have an adapter to mount our Canon lenses, including autofocus. We'll contact attendees two days prior to let them know which gate will be our meeting point. Anyone requiring a (free return) lift from West Acton station (Central Line) or North Ealing station (Piccadilly Line) at 7.15am can message me for more information. ๐’๐š๐Ÿ๐ž๐ญ๐ฒ: From the Royal Parks website: "Throughout the year, visitors are advised to: always keep at least 50 metres away from deer; never touch or feed the deer. Deer are wild animals, not pets; avoid getting in between two deer; and never photograph the deer at close range, use a long lens and consider taking photos at off peak times such as early mornings and weekdays." In short you will need to remain alert, look out for those shooting with you and don't get too close - which is why our super-telephoto lenses are just the thing to both stay safe & get amazing shots! ๐’๐ฎ๐ ๐ ๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž๐ ๐ž๐ช๐ฎ๐ข๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ: Telephoto lenses ~200mm+ eg[masked]mm,[masked]mm, or greater. Don't have a telephoto lens? We'll have at least 3 telephoto setups for you to borrow! (+ antiviral wipes for the equipment) Tripods not usually required but monopods can be handy with the larger telephoto lenses. Equipment - 1 x Canon tele lens: available 1 x Canon camera/tele lens: available 1 x Canon 1.4x extender: available 1 x Nikon camera/tele lens: available 1 x Nikon camera/tele lens: available 1 x Nikon 1.4x extender: available 1 x Nikon 2x extender: available 1 x Sony adapter + lens: available Please check the weather and wear appropriate clothing. Given the time of year we suggest multiple layers including bringing a light waterproof top and waterproof boots or walking shoes. We also recommend long trousers plus thick socks pulled up high to minimises chances of insect bites which the park now cautions visitors. We will be near a cafe, or you can bring your own food and drink (no toilets at our likely location but are elsewhere in the park). ๐‚๐จ๐ฏ๐ข๐-๐Ÿ๐Ÿ— ๐ข๐ง๐Ÿ๐จ: We've completed Visit Britain & Visit England's Covid-19 assessments & have been approved as "Good To Go". In keeping with government guidelines and current evidence, our risk minimisation measures include: โ€ข Ask participants to maintain 2+m distance from each other on location โ€ข Instructor will wear a mask if needing to come closer to help with camera โ€ข Antiviral hand sanitizer available at event โ€ข Cleaning of all equipment with isopropyl alcohol wipes โ€ข Participants confirm that they have followed current government guidance, including self isolating if they (or their contacts) have tested positive or suffer any symptoms. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/symptoms/ A full refund will be given if a participant has to cancel due to them or a contact testing positive or requiring to isolate. ๐๐จ๐ญ๐ž: This event is combined with 2 other photography Meetup groups that I run so RSVP numbers such as myself +3 means 3 members from the other groups attending.
