What we're about

Keeping it friendly - Keeping it fun!

This meetup is for anyone interested in photography. All abilities are welcome and the emphasis will be on sharing our knowledge in a fun and relaxed way, learning as we explore London and beyond.
It makes no difference whether you have the latest expensive camera gear or a camera phone, come along and we'll find plenty of interesting things to photograph.

Our events will take us to some of the most iconic locations where you can find that โ€œpostcard" (or Instagram)ย shot but we will be looking for more than that, your professional guide will encourage you to use your imagination and get creative with your photography. If you are new to photography you will have the opportunity to understand the subject better and improve your picture taking.

Keep an eye out for our special "Photography Experience Days" where we'll be collecting up to 7 lucky photographers from a central London location, transporting them to a unique event, and instructing on how to great shots, including using our own professional gear!ย Just bring a blank SD card!ย Our Experience Days are not only amazing photographic opportunities but are also difficult to get to - hence we provide the transport!

We look forward to seeing you at one of our events soon.

Last 2 places! - Loxwood Joust! (Sunday 14th August)

Needs a location

Dear Lords, Ladies, and photographic squires!

Loxwood Joust, the U.K.'s most spectacular mediaeval festival, is back on again this year and we're going to practice some dramatic action photography!

This amazing extravaganza is held in the picturesque woodlands of West Sussex and features full-contact jousting, along with other daring displays of weaponry, including archery, muskets, and cannon fire as armoured knights and their retainers prepare to meet in great numbers for the melee on the thunderous battlefield, granting us many photographic opportunities.

You will also be able to "wander the Living History Village, situated in the Mediaeval Meadow, where inhabitants live and work exactly as they would have in the middle ages. Peruse their traditional wares in the Mediaeval Marketplace, where traders and hawkers vie for your attention and wandering minstrels, dance troupes, and a court jester entertains the crowds throughout the day." So a number of interesting and unusual portrait possibilities are available.

Almost 50 re-enactment groups take part in Loxwood Joust each year so it is on a scale unlike other mediaeval events.

Our previous photographic scouts scoured Loxwood for the best photographic opportunities and have devised battle tactics to enable you to capture some amazing shots!

Please note: There will be a maximum of 7 participants (plus photo guide) so get in early! The Loxwood Joust event ends around[masked] pm, so we expect to leave the event soon after and arrive back in central London around 7 pm.

Whirling Wader Spectacular! (5 day birding tour) Register you interest.

Needs a location

Journey to the highlight of the UKโ€™s birding calendar!

Join us on this amazing tour one of the most stunning wildlife experiences in the UK, as between 80,[masked],000 birds take flight and fly overhead in the Whirling Wader Spectacular at RSPB Snettisham!

We'll be in place at The Wash in Snettisham and have four opportunities to view one of the most incredible wildlife events in the UK! We'll watch in anticipation as the waders, mainly Oystercatchers and Knots, retreat from the rapidly advancing spring tide. When the tide advances far enough and the wading birds no longer have enough space to stand, they take off in their thousands and fly overhead to the safety of the lagoons behind in the RSPB sanctuary.

As we hear the roar of thousands of wings beating as one, we'll photograph the unique shapes of their murmurations as they decide where to land.

We'll experiment with shutter speed, as the flocks fly by and sway to and fro on the mudflats, giving you an array of unique images for your portfolio.
