Hike In The Woods
We'll take a leisurely 5K (3.5 Mile) Hike though the wooded are of River Bends Park. There will be some hills at the beginning, but mostly flat terrain. We will allow for 2 hours for the walk and go out to eat afterward. To get there, do not enter the park from Ryan Road. This will not take you to the trail head. Instead, take Ryan to 22 Mile and head east one mile. You'll see the entrance to the park on the right (south). Bypass the small parking lot you come to first and proceed to the big parking lot. The trailhead is behind the Hickory Grove Picnic Shelter. We will go someplace to eat and socialize afterward. If the weather is bad, this event may be CANCELLED. Hello and Welcome to The Metro Detroit Fun & Fitness meetup site. This site is owned by the GM Ski Club. For those who are unfamiliar with us we are more than just a ski club and we are not affiliated with General Motors (long story). We are simply a dynamic eclectic social club. We use this site to reach out to active folks like you, let you know what we have going on and invite you to participate in any of our events. Although some events have discounted prices for members of the GM Ski Club, you don't have to be a member of the club to participate. Enjoy fitness activities like Wallyball (winter), Volleyball (summer), Cross Country Skiing, Ping Pong, Bocci Ball, Biking, etc , laugh and have fun while at it. When weather permits outdoor games like Sand Volleyball is also planned. We have biking too... not so light fitness but fun fitness...riding several different trails located throughout the Detroit Metro area. For just plain fun, there's concerts, eating out, or just meet'n'greet events.
