Kayaking

*********************

Cross posted event

**********************

One of the things on my “bucket list” is to go kayaking, so I thought why not do it as a Meetup event!  I know I am not the only person with this on their list J.  This event is for everyone, including beginners like myself.  Experienced kayakers are VERY WELCOME….please come!!  Us beginners will probably need some help.

Are there any kayakers out there?  Do you own one?  Is it single or tandem?  Who would like to come with me?  Please answer these questions by posting a comment.

I will need at least 6 people in order to have this event, and the maximum number of people, who can rent kayaks for this event is 22, so please update your RSVP if it changes.  If you own a kayak and want to join us, please be sure to post a comment, so I do not include you in the rental number. I will also create a waitlist for this event.  Please RSVP before July 25th because I need to give them a final headcount on July 25th.

I was able to get us a great deal from “More Time Rentals” and they will even delivered them for us. They are willing to rent us single person kayak’s for $15 per person for the 2 hour!!!  Their regular price is $10 per hour.  I have chosen Coes Pond, which they recommended because it is more suited for beginners. There is no cancellation fee in case of bad weather.  Let's hope for good weather!!! Also, if possible I would like to collect the $15 from everyone before the event.  You can either pay me cash or check.  If you want to mail it to me, email me and I can give you my address to send the check.

They also offer rentals on a lot of other things so I have included the link below, so people can check out More Time Rentals.

The single, sit on top kayaks are 11 ft. in length, 31 inches wide and  it can hold 300 lbs. The kayaks have a padded seat and backrest, large open deck and plenty of  storage for gear. Comes with life vest, extra seat cushion, and paddle.

Never been in a kayak like this one. Paddling might be a different but I'm up for the challenge.

There is a maximum number of kayaks they can get but I can also see if we can get canoes. Anyone who has a kayak or canoe of their own is also welcome so we can have more than 22 people.

Yes, canoes are also welcome! I will update the event and let people know.

I think it is much easier learning in a one man kayak.
