What we're about

GAAMC is a not-for-profit volunteer-run organization that provides social, educational, and outreach programs. GAAMC also offers opportunities for individuals to become politically active on issues related to the GLBTI community. Our intent is to maintain a positive, healthy, respectful and supportive environment in a safe space. GAAMC is the longest continually operating GLBTI group in New Jersey, started in 1972 by 4 people looking for a place to meet others like themselves.

We meet each Monday evening at Morristown Unitarian Fellowship, 21 Normandy Heights Rd, Morristown, NJ 07960. Doors open at 6:30 pm. We offer an open discussion group for men and women of all orientations and identities. The discussion begins at 7:00 pm. Our main programs begin at 8:00 PM and run until roughly 9:30 or 10:00 PM. We serve light snacks, soda, and coffee.

We ask for a donation at the door of $7 for non-members, and $5 for members, to help offset costs such as rent, insurance, and other basic fees. In addition to hosting weekly meetings, we also organize "GAAMC Outings" to other's events. These events are approved by our Board of Trustees and organized by a Trustee or Officer. Details for these events such as date, time, transportation and any fees vary for each event.

If you would like to suggest a GAAMC Outing please send an email to Outings@GAAMC.org.

If you would like to offer to present a program at one of our regular Monday meetings, please send an email to Programs@GAAMC.org.

Anyone who uses the "Comment" functions of Meetup to SPAM our members with promotions of other events will have their comment(s) deleted, and may be banned from this group.

Cancel Cancel Culture by Calling Someone IN

Morristown Unitarian Fellowship

Every day on Social Media, someone asserts an opinion and someone else disagrees and has to rip a new space where that dissenting opinion used to be. What if we didn't call people OUT, when we disagree? What if we called people IN and had a brave discussion about our differences? What if we discussed the ways that we are the same, to establish a basis to then discuss how we are unique? Join us for a short video where Professor Loretta J. Ross gives us the basis to get back to conversing, supporting different opinions, and ways to build community within dissent.

Hang Out with Out IN Jersey Magazine

Morristown Unitarian Fellowship

Doors will open this evening at 6:00 PM.

We'll chat and catch up with everyone for the first hour during our Open Talk discussion.

After a short intermission, we will be joined by GAAMC's long-time friend, publisher of Out In Jersey Magazine, Peter Frycki. Let's find out how someone keeps a print publication alive, as well as one of the best online resources for the LGBTQ community of NJ, during one of the worst pandemics in American history.
