What we're about

This is an 8 week interactive support group focusing on GBTQ Men of Color. We'll provide a safe environment for members to openly share and examine the intersectionality between POC and being a GBTQ+ Man. We'll address topics of: coming out, finding community, racism, intimacy, sex and dating, family, homophobia, and cultural/sexual stereotypes. By speaking from the heart, supporting each other and being our authentic selves, this group will provide a space for participants to relate, learn and especially bond through each other's unique experience.

Topic: Homophobia in Home/Culture of Origin

The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center

We'll discuss experiences of growing up in our households as it pertains to being a gay, bi, trans, queer man. How did family values, norms and religious beliefs play a part in how we were viewed/treated or formed beliefs about ourselves and identity? Were there cultural and gender expectations which dictated how to act, who we 'should' marry and what role we're 'supposed' to take on? Come share your stories as well as provide support and examples of perseverance and self acceptance.
