Details

To celebrate the currently awesome weather here in Berlin, we are meeting once more at c-base and will be talking about anything Android.

We'll be gathering at 19:30 and at 20:00 one of our two talks will start. In the time before, during and after the talks, we'll have enough time to talk to other Android developers, and see what they are about.

Our two talks will be the following:

No more □ (tofu)
by Miquel

Tofu is a slang for the empty boxes shown in place of undisplayable emojis. We all have seen it, and your users too. Google announced EmojiCompat at I/O as a solution for them, but does it solve all issues developers have with emojis? In our talk you'll learn from our experience dealing with emojis and if EmojiCompat is the best solution for you.

and

Fingerprint API - The how, the what and the why.

by Marvin

The Fingerprint API has been around since the Android Marshmallow release. Since then it has seen a lot of use, but also a lot of changes. In this talk we will cover how the Android Fingerprint API works, what to look out for when using it and the newest changes coming to the API.
Caution: This talk might contain traces of crypto.

Reach out to us if you'd like to give a talk.
