- Self-organizing map — the first step to Machine Learning
•Registration: https://gdgdaugavpils1.typeform.com/to/to2T6e • What we'll do During the workshop we will build a self-organizing map that is a popular algorithm of clusterization based on Competitive learning. The algorithm is described with principles of artificial neural networks. It is perfect for analysis of multidimensional data structures and ideal as the first step into Data Mining. Building your own Self-organizing map will help you to understand the principle of this method in detail and experience how parameters influence the result. We will use VBA to build and experiment with a network. • What to bring A Laptop (can be one for two) with MS Excel installed with support for Developing mode (you can analogue Excel, but at your own risk), minimal programming skills. ------------------ • Регистрация (Обязательно!) https://gdgdaugavpils1.typeform.com/to/to2T6e • Что мы будем делать Self-organizing map - популярный алгоритм/метод кластеризации, основанный на идее конкурентного обучения (Competitive learning). Алгоритм выражен в терминах искусственных нейронных сетей. Алгоритм не является "серебряной пулей", но прекрасно подходит для первичного изучения скрытых структур исследуемых многомерных данных. Также идеален для первого шага в мир Data Mining. Собственная реализация метода Вам поможет в деталях понять принцип работы метода и прочувствовать влияние параметров на результат. Для разработки сети и выполнения экспериментов, используется VBA (EXCEL). Это позволяет задействовать весь потенциал построения графиков, простых пользовательских форм, ввода и вывода данных. При необходимости, написанный код с легкостью можно перенести на другие языки программирования и платформы. • Что нужно принести. Ноутбук (Можно один на двоих) с установленным MS Excel c поддержкой Developing mode (можно аналоги Excel, но на свой риск) , минимальные навыки программирования. •Опционально: Можно принести свои данные (желательно двумерные, данные должны быть обфусцированы/закодированные) Примеры : 1)Посетители сайта: возраст и категория интересов; 2)Продажи товаров: ценовой диапазон и категория товаров; 3)История звонков: время и идентификатор контакта;
