JavaScript MVC with Backbone.js and Underscore.js

We're focusing on the MVC framework Backbone.js and it's handy-dandy partner, Underscore.js. Using these two, combined with Require.js and Node.js, you can build MVC apps right in the browser that run on the client.

Note: this event replaces the "JavaScript for mobile devices" event that was listed here previously. We did not have a speaker for that event and I am not well-versed enough to speak on it, so instead I've moved the Backbone.js one to this time slot. I apologize if you really really really wanted to know the mobile stuff. If you know someone in the industry with the right experience and understanding, PLEASE get in contact as we can always do it in a future event.

The project I did last week is posted on github along with my media search project. I have updated the media search but the tank does require a proper serial connect to work. (USB device would work plugged in) https://github.com/alexmac131

I changed how I do the rendering of the data, using a single cloning object rather than the other way, really reduces the code.

Looking forward to the MVC talk :) Perhaps we can get the git and the slides up ahead of time so we can read ahead?

After this little bit of javascript sessions we should expand into other areas for talks : python, java, databases, metadata, hosting, etc. etc

You may want to include express as well

A node.js + Express talk would be great to attend.
