    About the Speakers:

    Valerius Huonder
Valerius is the co-founder and CTO of Angle. He studied electrical engineering and information technology at ETH Zurich and is a passionate software engineer. Before starting Angle, he worked as full stack software engineer at ETH Juniors, ti&m and Valtech, and co-founded a crypto startup. Over the years, Valerius built many native Android and iOS apps, hybrid apps with Ionic, WebViews with custom JS bridges, and cross-platform ones with Xamarin and React Native. He finally fell in love with Flutter. Now, he is excited to share their journey at Angle and how Flutter helped them iterate very quickly from the beginning.

    Patrice Müller
Patrice started Android development back in 2010 when he was a Student at Hochschule für Technik Rapperswil. Since then he worked on many different Android / cross platform projects including SBB Mobile, Paymit and NEMO (Post) for different agencies. He started his journey in cross platform development with Mobile GWT and tried other approaches including Ionic or Xamarin. After a lot of frustration with many of the mentioned cross platform approaches he ended up linking one: Flutter

  • Firebase Workshop with the Firebase Team from San Francisco

    Google Europaallee H

We are delighted to be joined by two amazing engineers from the Firebase team, who visit us from the US especially for this meetup.

    **Important**

    BRING YOUR LAPTOP!

    **Workshop description**

Diana and Rachel will lead a workshop in which participants can bring their own laptops and try out one of the most requested Firebase features, local emulation for testing and development. Participants will walk through writing Firestore security rules and a Firebase Function to make failing tests pass. In the process, participants will learn about local testing with Firebase, which is traditionally tricky for managed services; about how to extend the tests to become part of a CI setup; about securing a Firebase app, given the different security model; and how to build reliable and scalable Firebase Functions. Diana and Rachel are also happy to answer other questions about Firebase.

    **Diana's Bio**

Diana Tkachenko is the engineering lead for Cloud Functions for Firebase. Prior to working on the functions team, Diana worked on Firebase Hosting. Read more about her awesome work on the Firebase blog, her LinkedIn, or watch a "Meet Firebase" video of how she became an engineer at https://youtu.be/C3bjBOZ0wbs. She also leads a learn-to-program blog at dtkachenko.blogspot.com.

    **Rachel's bio**

Rachel Myers is an engineer working on Firebase Security Rules. Before joining Google, she founded a cloud deployment company and was an engineer at GitHub. In her free time, Rachel leads RailsBridge workshops to teach women Ruby and Rails, and gives talks about everything from performance monitoring to software architecture.

    **Agenda**

    18:15-18:30 Welcome & Apéro
18:30-20:00 Workshop with Diana & Rachel

  • Authenticity and Vulnerability – Keys or Obstacles to Career Success?

    Impact Hub Zürich - Colab

Being authentic and showing vulnerability at work – keys to your success in the workplace or sure-fire ways to kick you off the career ladder? We will explore this question by looking at what social studies have to say. To help us put theory into practice, we will deep dive into real stories of what can happen when people bring their authenticity and vulnerability to the workplace.

    Agenda:
    19.00 - 19:15 - Opening
19:15 - 19:50 - Authenticity and Vulnerability – Keys or Obstacles to Career Success? by Cristina Moraru.
    19:50 - 21:00 - Networking

No snack and drinks will be provided at the event. They can be bought downstairs at the cafe.

    About Cristina:

I left my home country at the age of 18 to study experimental psychology without exactly knowing what I had embarked on. I fell in love with social research. Once I finished my studies I changed countries again to diversify my social research expertise, this time by studying educational sciences. And when that was done, I allowed love to again determine my next step – I relocated to Switzerland to join my partner. Through trials, triumphs and tribulations, I discovered the life I truly want to create for myself: empowering women to live their happiest lives, drawing from my research superpowers, obsession with self-development and personal experience living abroad. This is why I founded Worthful Woman, a research- and experience-led platform supporting women who followed their partners to Switzerland in crafting happy lives: www.worthfulwoman.com.
