'Women Techmakers' and 'Futures of Learning' Vancouver chapters are coming together in June to discuss an extremely important yet unnoticed skill that will help you grow your career in an exponential rate: "Visual Presentation".
How you present yourself and your ideas is an essential skill in the
21st century, one that has the power to make or break your career as
well as affect all areas of your personal life. Are you presenting
information to peers, pitching an idea, trying to persuade your boss to
give you a raise or making your case to your partner for getting that
puppy? You may know your material really well, but you also need to know
how to present it in a way that is confident and engaging.
Whether your aim is to teach, engage, persuade, inspire or illuminate,
we will show you how to present in a way that will make your audience
sit up and listen rather than fall asleep from boredom or get a headache
from your copious bullet points and hard-to-read graphs. You will come
away with practical and immediate tools to turn a potentially
nerve-wracking experience into something that is natural, pain-free and
quite possibly… enjoyable!
