About the speakers
Neha Dalal - High Impact Innovations Team, GE Digital
Neha architects and builds innovative mobile solutions across GE businesses. She has deep experience and knowledge of mobile application development, object oriented design, software design patterns and data modeling. She is passionate about building simple solutions for complex problems and has experience architecting solutions from ground up and providing technical leadership to development team. She holds a Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering and has over 20 years of experience in software industry, having previously worked for Barnes and Noble - Nook, iPass, Applied Materials, JP-Morgan Chase, Bently Nevada.
Beena Ammanath - Executive Director, Data Engineering & Analytics, GE Digital
Beena leads a team that works across the GE businesses to drive analytics development leveraging big data technologies. During her time at GE, she has built an innovative team of big data engineers and data analysts, focused on delivering scalable business outcomes. She is passionate about data and analytics to aid cross-functional teams to derive data insights, aid teams in articulating questions they did not know they had and help view data in more effective ways. Beena is an industry thought leader and has over 23 years’ experience in the data arena with a number of international organizations including British Telecom, E*trade, Thomson Reuters and Silicon Valley startups in engineering and management positions. She holds a Masters in Computer Science and MBA in Finance.
Sharoda Paul - Research Scientist, GE Global Research
Sharoda is passionate about user experience and enjoys building usable and delightful interfaces for industrial applications. At GE, Sharoda has worked on mobile collaboration apps, expert search and recommendation, interfaces for patient monitoring devices, and human-machine collaboration. Sharoda holds a Ph.D. in Information Sciences and a Bachelors in Computer Sciences. She has published her research in ACM and IEEE publications and her work has been featured in the New York Times (http://www.nytimes.com/2012/11/24/technology/internet/ge-looks-to-industry-for-the-next-digital-disruption.html?pagewanted=1&_r=1), Scientific American (http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/parsing-the-twitterverse/), and the Computing Community Consortium (http://www.cccblog.org/2015/02/05/expertise-on-demand/) blog.
