Baby Orangutan in Pastel. Students will draw and paint this exquisite creature and its surroundings of Hawaii using high quality archival paper and superior inks and watercolor. Participants will learn composition techniques, detailed designing of nature's patterns and the intricate application of ink and watercolor process. Students will combine a meaningful connection between these living creatures and their expression of them in the visual arts.

Artists will develop a solid foundation of techniques in composition and a high level of art concepts including elements and principals, such as light and shadow, perspective and color and design, consequently finding confidence in drawing and an individual path for personal artistic expression.We use professional art mediums including, watercolor, pastels, acrylics, charcoal, pen, ink, mixed medias with high quality papers, canvas, boards, easels.
Ms. B has 25 years experience in teaching art to children of all ages, talents, and abilities. She is the reason we decided to homeschool. There is no way our daughter could get this kind of instruction in school. Ms. B has been teaching her art classes to the Long Beach homeschool community for the past 4 years. This is a drop-off class if parent and child are comfortable. Parents are always welcome to stay and observe, though. Lighthouse has an enclosed playground for younger siblings. The trampoline is off-limits, though.
