Let's make the most of the final day before the clocks change with a very nice 9 mile circular route through some varied Hertfordshire countryside with plenty of good views.
We'll start our route at Tring station and follow the famous 4000 year old Ridgeway path along its final 3 miles to Ivinghoe Beacon. This is the hardest part of the day with a few hills but the views are worth it and we'll be rewarded with a great panoramic view and a picnic lunch when we arrive at Ivinghoe Beacon.

Eventually we'll come to a clearing in the forest where we'll find the Bridgewater Monument (and a National Trust cafe). If you climb to the top of the monument you can see for miles and even see London in the distance if it's not too cloudy.

We'll meet at Euston Station (outside the ticket office) at 10:00 and head to the platform at 10:25 to take the train at 10:34, arriving in Tring at 11:17. At the end of the hike we'll arrive at the pub in Aldbury at around 16:00. The train station is then another 15 minutes walk from the pub.
The price of the hike is £11.45. This includes:
• Group save return train ticket from London to Tring - £7.45
• Organiser's fee - £4. (The first 10 people to sign up only pay the train fare)
If you can't make it, change your RSVP to 'not going' and if someone takes your place then you'll get a refund to your Paypal account. If nobody takes your place you won't get a refund. No shows won't get a refund.
There are 4 places for people who want to travel independently by car or from a different station. If you'd like one of these places then please email me (don't post a comment) and I'll add you to the list - in this case you'll just need to pay the £4 on the day.
