What we're about
Does this sound familiar? You are at the podium, speechless. No word is coming out; worse, nonsensical words are coming out that even you, the speaker, do not understand. The audience gives you the blank stare. The awkward silence is unbearable. You feel terrible and want to hide. Chances are you have been there. We all have. Public speaking evokes fear; but like all other skills, it can be learned and developed, and the fear subdued.
At Toastmasters, public speaking and leadership are what we do. This is GGU Toastmasters, a non-profit local chapter of Toastmasters International. We offer a step-by-step approach to becoming a better speaker. We have helped over a thousand people since 1999.
We meet every Monday (except holidays) between 6:30PM and 7:45PM at Magnetic Speaking (406 Brannan Street in SoMa). We are open to the public. Please come experience the journey of becoming a more effective communicator.
