TRIPURA
It is the least known state of the North East but very beautiful.
It is also called the land of the Kirats. It is a beautiful place rich in palaces, artifacts, unique culture, amazing views of the Himalayas and the wonderful landscapes.

Tripura has many palaces which were once the residences of the Maharajahs of the Manikya dynasty. The Ujjayanta Palace built in 1901 is a mix of Mughal and European architecture. There are temples within the compound which are worth visiting. Near to Agartala is the Neermahal or the Lake Palace, built in 1930 in the middle of Rudrasagar lake. The palace has towers, pavilions, little bridges etc which makes it interesting to explore.

In the ancient capital of Tripura, Udaipur there is the Tripura Sundari temple. It was built on the Dhanisagar hill and is dedicated to Mother goddess. Behind the temple is a pond which has Turtles.

Sipahijala is a botanical garden cum zoo. It is famous for the spectacled monkey and other migratory birds.

Unakoti is famous for the rock cut sculptures carved out on the mountain sides and ancient temples.

Jampui hills is the highest range of hills in the state of Tripura with an altitude of 3000 ft above sea level. The hill top gives amazing views of the beautiful valleys.
