What is GLECPTA? It stands for Greater Lewisville Early Childhood PTA. We are part of the National PTA as well as the Texas PTA. We are a non-profit organization that supports parents of infants, toddlers, and pre-school aged children. Our mission is to support and speak on behalf of children in the schools, to assist their parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children, and to encourage parental involvement in the public schools of this Nation.
What Does GLECPTA Do? We serve the families of the Greater Lewisville Area by planning many fun and educational activities from monthly meetings with informative speakers and social activities to share with the family. We also provide friendship, guidance, and reassurance, in a supportive and social atmosphere.
• Monthly Meetings with childcare
• Area Activities/Outings (Zoo, Police Station, Theatre, etc.)
• Children’s Holiday Parties
• Meals for New Moms
• Moms Night Out
• Community Service Projects
Our monthly meetings serve as a time to gather together and hear a relevant speaker, socialize, and stay current on GLECPTA events. Past speakers have included librarians, sleep specialists, organizers, fitness specialists, as well as fun things like cupcake decorating and holiday celebrations.
Members are required to pay yearly dues of $25. Dues cover our group's PTA accreditation, children's parties, general supplies, meeting venue rentals, etc. We encourage visitors at our monthly meetings and welcome guests at most of our outings and events. We always love to meet new faces!
Please note that joining our Meetup group does not make you a full member of GLECPTA. We invite guests to attend our meeting and events for up to one month. After a month we ask that you submit a membership form and dues otherwise we will remove you from the Meetup group. New members are welcome to join at any time during the year, but membership renewal will occur annually in September. Please let us know if you have any questions.
