840 Mauldin Rd, Greenville, SC
Meet leader at the pavilion of Conestee Nature Park
START TIME: 12:00 PM, RETURN TIME: 3:00 PM
We will meander through this local luscious wetlands and pavement park for about 6 miles. Beginning at the pavilion from the south entrance off of Mauldin Road (at the ballfield entrance near the dog park), we will walk up to the Korean War Memorial and take the trail that leads us to and across the main bridge. We will do the Froggy Bottom Link loop to the boardwalk and then to the West Bay. With the River Otter Way bridge out of commission, we will connect back to the Swamp Rabbit Trail and trek around several trails along the western side of the park. Hike will be at a relaxed pace. This is a great hike for beginners, hikers recovering from an injury, and anyone that just wants to do a slower pace to check out what is in Greenville’s backyard!
NOTE: This area is unfortunately prone to human trash from upstream when we have heavy rains. LCNP does several volunteer cleanups during the year. Please bring a bag and work gloves of some sort with you so we can pick up what someone may have left behind.
